Liz Fikejs
Liz Fikejs has worked for over 20 years in local government focusing on resource conservation programs that encourage behavior change and foster environmental solutions. Liz has researched, developed and managed water conservation programs for fifteen years. More recently, her strategic planning and program delivery has shifted to solid waste prevention and recycling programs. Liz leverages her work with partnerships that span public sector agencies, private businesses and community organizations. She especially enjoys collaborations that solve multiple challenges while meeting diverse goals. Liz is dedicated to finding approaches that engage all Seattle customers from many backgrounds.
The Threadcycle program is an example of her solid waste prevention and recycling work with another public agency and community partners. This Seattle-King County public awareness campaign encourages reuse and recycling of textiles with the ultimate goal of keeping textiles out of the waste stream.
