“I feel so lucky to do what I do for a living.” Fiona, who is best known for her many years on Shaw TV’s THE RUSH, is now hosting two new shows on Shaw – Where You Live and Up Front – and she loves her work. “I get to meet so many interesting people every day and hear their stories. I’ve lost count, but I think I’ve interviewed over 25,000 people over the last 18 years!”
Since the early days of her career when Regis Philbin told her “You’ve got something kid!”, she knew that making a turn (on a whim) in her career choice felt right. Having received a degree in History at the University of British Columbia, she had planned to go to Law School and instead decided to enroll in the Journalism Program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Before graduating from the program, Fiona got her first job by accident when she auditioned on a dare and landed an on camera gig as a TV host.
In addition to THE RUSH, Fiona has also hosted several other shows including DAYTIME on Rogers, AUTOMOTIVE MORNING on Life Network and BREAKFAST TELEVISION on City-TV. She has appeared as a guest on MARILYN DENIS, CBC NEWSWORLD, CBC RADIO & on CKNW News Talk 980 as a contributor and host.
In the spring of 2015, Fiona started her own production company “Ladypants Productions”. She and her producing partner are currently creating and developing concepts for TV and Web based series for both Canadian and U.S. production houses and broadcasters. LadyPants Productions is an unstoppable, multifaceted, content producing TV powerhouse.
While Fiona loves her work, she also has a passion for charitable endeavours. Among her favorites are the CKNW Orphan’s Fund, Pink Shirt Day, Dress For Success, Ronald McDonald House, Variety Club, Timmy’s Telethon and Easter Seals.
