RUNWAY REIMAGINED | PROJECT 8.1

Entering the headquarters of our long time partner, Savers/Value Village, EFW is excited to launch a new challenge hybrid which explores and illustrates textile waste through the most basic form of conscious consumption: rethink, reuse.

Per year, the average weight of textile waste produced by one North American is 81lbs. This astounding number has fueled the “81lbs Challenge,” where designers are tasked with transforming 81lbs of unsellable merchandise into a full, runway-ready fashion collection. But previous participants have not been able to meet the lofty target, so this season, for “Runway Reimagined: Project 8.1,” ten stylists and designers will showcase mini runway collections from 8.1lbs of Value Village product. This project will feature fashion artists from many corners of the Pacific Northwest, with a focus on local Seattle talent.
